Ophir is pleased to announce that, together with its joint venture partners, it has been awarded Block 10 and Block 12 as part of the Mexico offshore bid round 2.4.
Ophir has a 23.3% non-operated interest in Block 5 located in the Sureste Basin in the Gulf of Mexico

- Drilling of one firm well within initial four year phase
The energy sector in Mexico was recently liberalised meaning that for the first time in nearly 80 years, international companies were able to bid for acreage in Mexican waters. Block 5 in Mexico is situated offshore in moderate water depths in the Sureste Basin, Gulf of Mexico. Ophir is part of a Murphy-operated consortium which also includes PC Carigali (part of Petronas) and Sierra Oil & Gas.
